Jul 23: Predators Announce Fall Tryouts: the North Central Predators are pleased to release their fall tryout schedule {PDF file}. If you have a specific team in mind, it is just a click away to find specific information on that team. • Spring saw record numbers attend tryouts, and more are expected starting August 11th. Players/parents are asked to check our website before coming, to ensure that nothing has changed in the interim.

Mar 4: Bantam Team Victorious Again: the Bantam Predators took the Richmond Hill Stars 2 games to 1, to win round two of the ETA’s. [details…]
Mar 4: Tryouts Coming Up: the NCOHA Spring Tryouts will be held April 14th to 19th at Midland arena, and April 19th and 20th at the Orillia Community Centre. Team allocation of ice and times will be posted shortly.
Mar 7: News Alerts: there are so many changes to the Master Schedule and Team Calendars right now that News Alerts will appear only for special messages, like weather, road, and cancellation notices. All players, parents, and team staff should check the Master Schedule & their Team Calendars DAILY.
Mar 10: Minor Midgets & Bantams Advance to Championships: the NCOHA Minor Midgets qualified to play in the OMHA AAA Championships, defeating Quinte three straight by scores of 4-3, 3-1, & 2-1 (overtime)! The round robin championship takes place March 14th to 16th in Peterborough. The Bantam team advanced to the ETA Championship to play the Whitby Wildcats: the Predators won the third and deciding game of their semi-final 2-0 over the Central Ontario Wolves.
Mar 16: Major Bantam Team Continues Fight: after falling to Whitby 5-2 in the opening game of the Bantam ETA Championship, the Predators came back Saturday and fought hard for a 2-1 victory, tying the series at one game each. The Predators have a chance to win the series on Saturday, March 22nd in Whitby.
Mar 20: 2008/2009 Tryouts: we are pleased to announce our slate of coaches and our spring tryouts for the 2008/2009 season {PDF document}. Note that the Orillia site is the Orillia Community Centre, and the Midland site is the North Simcoe Sports & Recreation Centre (formerly Midland Centennial Arena). Additional tryouts are possible after April 20th. Coaches will notify teams, and additional times will be posted on this website. Check our site often for any changes.
Mar 21: Annual NCOHA Banquet: the North Central Predators Hockey Association has set the date for their Annual Year End Banquet. It will be held on Sunday, April 13th, 11:30am - 2:30pm at the Mnjikaning (Rama) Arena Sports Complex. Details will be available from team Managers soon. Mark the date on your calendar now!

Apr 4: Player Tryout Permission Form: some parents are asking what they need from their home centre to participate in a NCOHA “AAA” tryout. Parents must fill out the official 2008/2009 Player Tryout Permission Form {PDF file} and have it signed and completed by their hometown rep.
Apr 9: Minor Bantam Tryout: a new tryout has been added for the Minor Bantam team on Apr 22, 8:30-10:00pm at Orillia.
Apr 30: 2008/09 Fall Tryouts: We will shortly post the fall tryout schedule for the 2008/09 season with dates, times and locations. Please stay tuned. For information on team coaches, please click the teams menu item.

May 1: Annual General Meeting: the North Central Ontario Hockey Association has announced that their Annual General Meeting will take place on Thursday, May 22nd, 7:30-9:00pm at the Mnjikaning Arena Sports Complex (Rama Arena) in the Community Room. The rules and regulations of the AGM are under our Constitution {PDF file}. Any questions about the AGM should be referred to the Secretary of the NCOHA, Cyndie Timpano, by email at secretary@northcentralpredators.com.

May 18: 2008/09 Fall Tryouts: many changes have been made to the fall tryout schedule for the 2008/09 season {PDF file}. The tryouts also appear on the Master Schedule and on the Team Schedules. Parents and players should check the Master and/or Team Schedules, as the attached schedule covers only the first four skates in August for each team, and more changes may be made over the summer.

Sep 18: Schedules: many changes have been made to the Master Schedule and the Individual Team Schedules. All team staff members, parents, players, and friends of the Predators should check the revisions now and on a regular basis throughout the season. We welcome visiting teams coming to play the Predators to use the Master and Team schedules as a confirmation they have the correct date, time, and arena for their game.

Apr 26: Tryouts: We would like to extend are best to all the players who came to the tryouts this year! We hope every participant felt that they had a good hockey experience. We also would like to thank all the parents who took the time and effort to allow your child to participate in the tryouts in the last two weeks. The goal of the NCOHA was to run a well organized and fair tryout process that all kids would benefit from in their future hockey and life skills. Many coaches have had very positive feedback on both the hockey part and the player coach interviews. We thank all that participants and hope to see everyone back next year! Good Luck with your 2011-2012 Hockey Season!

Jun 1: Major Midget Coach: we are looking for a Major Midget Coach. This position is advertised later for AAA organizations due to player interest in Junior Camps. We are now accepting applications for this position for the 2011/2012 season. If you are interested, please eMail the Vice-President, Pat Morris, for further details. Competition for this position will be closed on June 20, 2011.
Jun 23: Major Peewee Coach: our Major Peewee team requires a head coach for the 2011-2012 season. The closing date for applications to be in the hands of the selection committee is July 11, 2011. Interviews will take place between July 12 and July 15, 2011. Please complete the application form and e-mail it to president@northcentralpredators.com. If the Canada Post strike is over, the form can also be mailed to NCOHA c/o 111 Keffer Circle, Newmarket ON L3X 1R8.

Oct 26: Sad News: the NCOHA lost a coach & executive member, John Groen, in a tragic accident this past weekend. He dedicated countless hours to the association both on and off of the ice. We offer our deepest sympathies to his wife, Tracy, and his two sons, Dustin and Brendan.
