About Us

This presents an introduction to our association and gives a statement of our mission.

Introduction

We are the “North Central Ontario Hockey Association”, commonly referred to as either the “NCOHA”, or the “North Central Predators”.

The NCOHA is incorporated as a non-profit organization. Business is carried on without purpose of financial gain for its members. Any profits to the NCOHA are used in promoting its objectives.

Teams playing for the NCOHA are known as the “Predators”. The NCOHA team colours are those of the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League.

The NCOHA has jurisdiction of “AAA” hockey within a zone whose boundaries are established by the Ontario Minor Hockey Association. The zone is depicted in the bright rectangle in the map below. The following minor hockey associations are included in the zone: Almaguin, Bala, Bracebridge, Coldwater, Gravenhurst, Humphrey, Huntsville, Mactier, Midland, Orillia, Parry Sound, Penetang, Port Carling, and Trout Creek. The Elmvale, Oro, and Wasaga Beach associations were added to the zone for the 2010/2011 season.

The NCOHA is a member of, and plays in, the Eastern “AAA” Hockey League (ETA).

The NCOHA is a member of the Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) and the Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF).

Mission Statement

Our mission is:

  • To promote, encourage, and foster the development of “AAA” hockey in the zone.

  • To support community-based hockey in local associations to meet the needs of players below the “AAA” level.

  • To provide the opportunity to all zone players to play at the highest level of competitive hockey possible.

  • To promote sportsmanship as well as championship
